Hearing Aids on the NHS
Endon Hearing Care Centre provides a community based service for patients of NHS North Staffordshire.

We aim to provide:
* a high quality, efficient service for all patients with a hearing loss
* local clinics for improved accessibility to hearing health needs, reducing travel time for patients
* patient and GP extra choice
Our hearing services include:
A full hearing assessment for patients with hearing difficulties at a local venue with short waiting time. This is conducted by a qualified Hearing Aid Dispenser.
Fitting of the latest NHS digital hearing aid technology if a hearing aid solution is recommended.
Full Aftercare: Follow up aftercare service for patients fitted with digital hearing aids.
On-going support and management for patients, including easy-to-contact appointment centre to arrange service/maintenance appointments - which includes re-tubes, battery allocation and new hearing aid moulds if required.
Walk in Hearing Centre at the Endon branch - for retubes and batteries (week days only).
Hearing Helpline: Support line for advice on hearing health, hearing aid operation, service and emergencies - five days a week - 9 - 5pm. Call 01782 504109 and quote reference NH NS 01.
Microsuction Earwax Removal: We have a fully qualified ENT Nurse Practitioner with years of experience in microsuction wax removal (a more comfortable and safer method of wax removal rather than traditional syringing). This is available for new patients prior to hearing aid fitting if required.

If you are a patient of the NHS North Staffordshire and are concerned about your hearing then please talk to your GP. If your GP recommends a hearing assessment referral then you will be offered a choice of providers - including Endon Hearing Care Centre and the many external local clinics.

Hearing Health Drop in Centre for retubes and batteries available at Endon only.
Driving Down Wait times:
All patients are contacted within 24 hours of the referral from GP being received.
We aim to appoint all new referrals with a hearing test appointment at their choice of venue within approximately 14 days.
We aim to fit patients requiring digital hearing aids 3 - 4 weeks after the test.
We will book at follow up six weeks after the hearing aid fitting to check on patient progress and also make any necessary adjustments.
